Joan Report 8 Sep 2007 10:56

Hi Jane,
I appreciate the help.I'm chasing rainbows probably with this George Scott. This is the story.I have an ancestor Thomas Little living in Pockheive,or Pocklieve) Eskdalemuir in 1830/ 31 .His wife died in '31 and he emigrated to Canada. His sister Henrietta Little married a William Scott in Ettrick,Selkirk in 1830.They too moved to the same township in Canada sometime in the 1830s.They had a daughter Elizabeth in Ettrick in 1830 and I have them having sons Matthew,William,Thomas in Canada but no reg.of a George.Back in Scotland another family of Littles (James Little )occupied Pocklieve in 1841.I haven't managed to fit them into my tree but it's a bit of a coincidence and I feel there must be a connection-maybe James was a cousin of my Thomas and Henrietta .In 1851 the younger members of the family are still in that house along with this George Scott.Another coincidence is that James was married to an Elizabeth Murray and the Thomas who emigrated went with a second wife,Janet Murray.I was hoping I'd find maybe a marriage for George that might give me parents' names.Very tortuous I'm afraid.Your list of George Scott births does not include Ettrick so I guess I'm barking up the wrong tree.
Many thanks again,
Joan

Hi Jane,

Any chance you could find out any information about my great grandmother Ellen Adams nee Reeves? She was born around 1889 and married Harry Adams born around 1889. They lived together in Bexhill, Hastings,East sussex. She may have been born there but i'm not sure.
I am trying to trace her parents and any siblings she may have had.
I'm also trying to find out where she was born and when she and Harry were married.

Any info much appreciated
Regards
Sharon

Hi Jane,

Thank you very much for those. Now that looks interesting
Can you tell me what Jane Feltham's marital status is please lol. Betsey didn't marry until 1866 I wonder where she could be. That was a good spot for Henry in the 1861 a popular mistranscription of the name

A zillion thanks to you
