....as much info as possible please. Ancestry has limited info before 1871 census and little after 1901 census.BMD info from 1837-1910 ish.

Hi Sheila Thanks for your very kind offer. I wonder if you can look on the 1891 census for: Daniel or Frank Laird or Monaghan (they changed their name) Mary Laird or Monaghan Mary Ellen Laird/Monaghan Joseph Laird/Monaghan? I know that in 1881 they lived in Little Bolton, Lancashire, but they moved to Middlesbrough then they may have settled in Barrow in Furness for the 1891 census, but I don't have an address for them. thanks for offer i am stuck on harold william knight dob 15/01/1901 probably in essex married ivy violet beatrice pettitt dob 5th july 1905 in boreham. they had 12 children harolds parents i think were elizabeth and samuel knight harold died 29th june 1992 in bexhill on sea sussex i have his army medal card for royal horse artillery his no; K1036777 also former no; 257727which i can find no info on also looking for muriel crane dob 2/11/1913 nee blaxhall from suffolk-possibly hoxne, father samuel mother francis nee chapman francis born in monk soham suffolk. she had sister jessie dob 11th june 1898 and ida and brother harry. hope you can find something as i am at a dead end (excuse the pun!)

Mandy...Ancestry covers mostly info before and including 1901 census, so most of your request is outside that. Have looked for Harold and Jessie without success.

Joanne, there are 49 Mary Anns on 1871 census- none in Hemsworth. Are you sure of place of birth?

Sheila Thanks for looking! I was given the information by my in-laws. Mary Ann was married in Hemsworth in 1882 so may be it's just my in-laws assumption she was from there. I think I may have to order her marriage certificate. Unless she is on 1891 census under her married name of Mary Ann Walstow married to Alfred Walstow b. abt 1861 Caunton, Notts. They would be in Hemsworth then probably with 4 children. That would give her birthplace? Is 1891 Yorkshire on Ancestry? Sorry to be such a pain. I really appreciate your help! Joanne

Joanne- have found her on 1891. She was born in Kilnhurst, Yorkshire, but still I cannot find her in 1871, sorry!
