Sorry tracy did not notice yoyr question, His first wife was Mary ann Jones. They married in 1859 in Madeley. under the name of Ashley. There are a number of deaths for ann ashley in the following years. |

There's definitely two names going on.... He's Richard Ashley Lear in 1873. In 1881, all the family are A.Lear on the index (except Mary, who is A.Lewis). A is probably short for Ashley. I can't find Richard in 1841 under either name though lol |

Yes Tracy, thats him, he marries in 73 so I do not know why mary is called Lewis which is his wifes maiden name. A confusing family to say the least. |

Hi all, Can someone please find a Richard Ashley born 1837 in Madeley Staffs. He may be under the name Richard Lear. He was baptised under Ashley brought up as a lear. If I am right his first marriage was under the name of Ashley and his second under Lear, unless there are two of them. Confused, I am. Julie |
