Thanks any way Rosi. Elizabeth was deffinatly Strevens, as I have the marriage certificate and my dad confermed that the name was Strevens as it was his grandmother. She had married again the year my father was born, but he clearly remembers her husband was a Strevens. I'll have to keep thinking as it is likely that a neighbour registered the death so they could have misspelt the name.

Sorry peeps - not much luck. Lunar Could find no Death for Elizabeth Ann STREVENS. Checked 1959- 1961 - nuffink! You did mean Strevens didn't you - not a typo for STEVENS? Will check again if so. Karen Have checked Aspinall and Aspinwall - found nothing - I'm sorry. Jean and Keely, Alas- the registers didn't start until 1837 - so no one can look up any event before then. Its family search.com or Censuses to get a foothold. Maybe a posting on one of the message boards for look ups in the 1941 Census for the areas/names you are interested in might help you.

Hya Rosi... If you have any credits left, any chance you could look up Thomas Povey b 1826, almost certain he was born in Shropshire, but as majority of my family are from Liverpool, chance he was from there too. Thanks so much. Take care Jean

Hi Rosi such a generous offer. If you can would you kidly be able to have a look for a death record for Elizabeth Ann Strevens about Sept quarter 1960 please. It should have been registered in Cardiff (normally vol 11a) but she could have been away from home. She was born about 1898. Thank you in advance
