Finally got to North Shields Library yesturday and spent two hours there. Donna. Remembered to take your details this time, but guess what. You did not give me any years. Let me have them and I will check again on Saturday. Johnathon. The Parish Records for that period are unreadable, sorry. Claire. I looked at marriages from 1775-1784 and there was only one William Mitcalfe. In fact there were no other Metcalfe/Mitcalfe's married in Tynemouth. during those years. The microfilm contains marriages from 1763-1784. A William Mitcalfe married a Mrs Margt Kelso? Very hard to make out her surname. Married on 12 August 1776. Both signed the register, and it looked like Willaim had added 'Jun? after his signature. Could this have been Jnr. ? Witnessed by John Mitcalfe and Mary ???? Will look at earlier dates on Saturday. Jenny.

Hi Jenny, Thank you so much for trying for me, sorry i haven't been on the boards for a while so just checked!!!! I was born in North shields but live in Rutland at the minute, although all my family live in Shields still, there is only myself and my dad interested in our research and am afraid dad isn't up to library visits, although the last time i was home in July we did visit the library it was`a bit to much for dad. I would love to find this info for him, though i can only visit for a few days at a time so i really really appreciate any help at all. Thank you so much Jenny, all the best Donna :-)

Hi Jennie We wont get back to the hotel until early evening on saturday and then we are meeting inlaws for dinner, I would loved to have met up for a coffee though,,Its my ambition to come and stay for a couple of days before the old fella joins me on a saturday for the match, As he works away all weekend we only have the weekends to spend some time together,Although he's interested in FH he's not keen on wandering around cemetaries etc,so i would rather do that without him,,,lol,,,,I have so much research to do up there,,,a week wouldnt be enough,,

Claire, yes the marriages are from 1607 to 1754. Then 1813 to 1837. When you said pre 1787 I presumed you meant just a little before them. Will take a look in the earlier years if you want. Yes I use the library in North Shields. Just ten minutes away from me. I was trying to think of a Windsor in Newcastle at first. If i remember the Windsor in Whitley Bay is on the front with green canopies. Is there any chance of meeting up for half hour for coffee? Jenny.

Hi Susan. Your Hanns didnt marry at Tynemouth, but at Wallsend. 30 Mar 1818, Mary Hann to John Middleton. Mary would have only been 12yrs. 23 Jan 1820, Sarah Hann to George Taylor. 16 Mar 1828, Jane Hann to James Storrak. 27 Jul 1834, Mary Hann to Robert Arthur. 5 Oct 1835, Isabella Hann to Peter Cock. I have access to Ancestry 1841-1901 if you want me to look up any of these for you. Jenny.

Hi Donna. Couldnt find anything for you on the records I have at home, so copied and pasted your request along with Claire's intending to print it out, and take it to the library this morning. Guess who forgot to print out both requests??? All I took were the notes I made on Claire's request. I shall be going to the library again tomorrow or Thursday so will have a good look for you. Jenny.

Hi Claire, didnt get back to you last night as I could not find anything for you. So decided to go to the Library this morning. Spent two hours there and not a sausage I'm afraid. Marriages at Christchurch Tynemouth 1821-1833 are totally illegible. There were two John Scott's married in 1834. The first you can just make out his name but nothing else. The second was married to someone called Isabella. Sorry, Jenny.
