Hi Sally Many thanks for the kind offer. Can I ask for a USA census lookup please. I'm trying to find James SUGDEN, who was born c1813 in Yorkshire. He disappears after the 1841 census and I have found a James Sugden, aged 29, on a ship from Liverpool to Philadelphia in 1842. Therefore, if you can find this James in the USA on any census from 1850 onwards, that would be great. If his marriage or death comes up on any of the USA BMD records, that would also be fantastic! Many thanks, Richard

Helen in Berkshire Report 6 Dec 2006 19:07

Hi Sally I think you must have had a particularly busy day back in November, as my message as well as Alison's seems to have got lost! It was:- ' I should be very grateful if you could trace a marriage in USA for: John George DEVERDIS, born 1916 in Gateshead, Durham, UK. The family (parents: John George Deverdis b.c. 1886, Grace nee King b.1889, and John George junior) moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1929 (living in Wayne County, Michigan on 1930 census). Deverdis is a very unusual name but is open to frequent mis-spelling/transcription and I am having trouble getting any further!' Many thanks in advance, Regards Helen

Hi Sally, Please could you find Frances?Francis Rogers and her husband William in 1851. Frances was born abt 1833 and William was born abt 1826. They were born in Greens Norton Northamptonshire. They may have had children by then. I would love to know the address if available and if anyone else was living with them. Also, if possible, I would love to know where William was in 1841. He was not married by then and I would love to find his parents If you have time could you have a look in Northamptonshire and see if he was with his parents. He could be in Towcester or Potterspury .He would be about 14 or 15 by then. Thank you very much! Chris

Hi Sally That sounds very good for Frederick Breese' birth and marriage. I know that he died Wantage Berkshire 1955, age 78 so 1877 would be correct. Also, could you please look up death of Nellie (Ellen) Long (before this marriage she was married to George Long and her maiden name was Smith). She died in Tooting area, probably Wandsworth, and it was in 1940s. Thanks Sandra

Hi Sally, I am looking for all the US/Canada records I can find on these set of people I am looking for (Census/Military/anything for US/Passenger Lists etc). Who I am looking for is: - Richard James Hockin (b.1857 Stonehouse/Plymouth Devon) Moved to US in 1888 Ellen Louisa Hockin (nee Peek) (b.1858 Devon Ottery St Mary/Devonport/Stonehouse) she moved with the children to the US in 1893, no sign on Richard. Children:- Bertram Richard Peek Hockin (b.1878 Stoke Damerel Area Devon) Reginald Thomas James? Hockin (b.1877 Plymouth area Devon) Florence Agnes Hockin (b.1879 Stoke Damerel/Plymouth area) Harold John Hockin (b.1881 Stoke Damerel area Devon) There has been no luck in finding entries in marriage and death BMD's for any of their children on FreeBMD. I did find Harold on the US SSDI and he died in August 1963. I also found Reginald on a passenger list in 1904 going back to the US. I know that Ellen divorced Richard and that she travelled back to the UK and died there in 1910. If you need any more details just ask Thanks for your help Steve
