Hi All! Am now "fleshing out" characters and events of some relatives. William and Sarah CHAPMAN were -according to their son Eric's birth certificate- living in South Street, Doncaster in 1906. He remembered walking to the end of the street to see the prisoners of war who gave him carved wooden toys through the wire fence. We know that there was a POW camp on Doncaster racecourse for WW2 but was it there for WW1?Did or does South Street back onto the racecourse? Anyone from Donny able to enlighten me please? |
