I'm looking for any information on Mary Reid who married Alexander Lamb in 1851 in the parish of Ardrossan. As far as I can find they had 4 children, Andrew b1856, Isobella b1858, Alexander b 1860, and my great grandfather James Forsyth b 1863. It is listed in parish records that Alexander the Mary Reid's husband was a weaver. They lived in Salt Coats at least until James Forsyth was born. It is also listed in the parish records that Isobella Lamb had an illegitimate daughter in 1877 and she was named for her Mother Mary Reid. The Reid is also used again as a middle name in one of my Grandfather's sister's who was named Mary Reid Lamb. I'm finding that this is a bit of a dead end so I hope there might be a common thread out there. Nancy |
