Trying to locate any family of Alexander REID, married to Annie Edward. Alexander was born in Scotland and was a farm servant when he married Annie. They had one son that I know of, John Reid, my gr grandfather! John was born about 1863/4 in Alyth, Perthshire, Scotland. I assume that his parents were from there too but one cannot assume anything till proven. The family came out to Australia where John later married Mary Elizabeth Leary in 1890 in Gympie Queensland. John and Mary had the following children, though some not sure of. They are, James Alexander (my grandfather) born 21st Apr 1891, Mary born 16th Jul 1893. The family then came to Western Australia where they had John Hendry born 1904, Maggie, William, Thomas and Kitty (Katherine or Kathleen maybe)??. I have nothing on Alexander or Annie except what I got from John's marriage cert. Any details would be really appreciated. Hoping someone out there doing the same branch, if so please contact me at karenmartin50(at sign)msn(dot)com 26/2/05...I have just found the other children of Alexander and Annie, they are:- James b 29/12/1861, John b 4.6.1863 (my gr grandfather), William Edward b 3/5/1865, Betsey b 10/10/1866, Alex b 22/5/1869 and Thomas b 31.3.1871 Thank you Karen. |
