Muriel Reid - I am looking for any information on the family of my father Wyven Leopold Reid born around l890 and sent to Canada in l901 by Annie Macpherson Homes as one of the so-called Home Children. He tried most of his life to obtain a British birth certificate or some info re his parents and family. He had no memory of his early years but was with a good foster family called Tarr in Peckham, London from about 1894/5 until he was placed in Annie Macpherson's Home of Industry, 2-6 Tower Road, Hackney, London. He is shown there in the 1901 Census and sailed to Canada May 9th, 1901. He died in November, 1949. I am his only child and have been trying to find info on his birthplace and family for many years. He remembered being told that he had some connection to a family named De Grosley. Any info would be much appreciated. |
