James Reid born 1876 in Strathdon, Aberdeenshire. James was my great uncle. In the 1891 census he was living at West Rinmore, Strathdon, Aberdeenshire. His father was Gordon Alexander Reid (born 1843 Strathdon) and his mother was Jane Gauld Reid (nee Grant - born 1851 in Logie Coldstone, Aberdeenshire). I have traced most of the remainder of this generation, but James disappears after 1891. In the 1901 census the rest of his family are living at Shannoch Farm, Breda, Alford, Aberdeenshire, but he is not there. Where did he go, what happened to him?? If any one can help, I would be very pleased to hear from them. |
