That is very strange. I have Maria Burt (second wife to my 3rd great grandfather William Vincent) her birth is 1843 the census have Maria 1844. I also have Elizabeth born 1838 who married James Vincent (my 3rd great grand uncle)

What I can understand with Fred is he went to Us in 1895, came back met and married Beatrice then went back to US . Baby Ruby was born 1914 and when she was 2yrs old Fred came back to England then the family moved back to the US

Thankyou so much Dea. I couldnt seem to find Maria Burt's father. There were alot of Elizabeths around. Maria's birth year was 1843. Yeh I will certainly keep looking.

If the 1891 family I posted is the same as the 1881 I posted then this looks strage because:

Maryb posted:
Fred born 14/4/1874 in Helston went to USA 15/9/1895 left USA 24/1/1913,he was a farmer.

mgnv posted:

The 1891 Frederick I posted with father William can't be the same as the one lodging with the Pearce's (although it has been known for people to be recorded twice - once with family and once elsewhere).

Yet Maryb semms to have some proof that the one who went to USA is the one born in Helston?

Perhaps people could look into this further please?

I have the grandchildren later so will have to leave it soon but will pick up on it again when they go home.

Then if that is the correct family - I have this:

Deaths Sep 1883 (>99%)
Vincent Cordelia Keast 46 Truro 5c 79

Marriages Sep 1884 (>99%)
BURT Maria Truro 5c 240 Scan available - click to view
Vincent William Truro 5c 240 Scan available - click to view

Looks like William remarried but BURT connection is strange??

I don't know if Burt is a very common name in the area but in view of the other couple's marriage we looked at, I am inclined to hunt around a little.............

It may be a total co-incidence but I will see if I can find anything further.

Thankyou for clearing that up for me.

I am so overwhelmed with all the information I have recieved in the last few days that some of it hasnt sunk in yet, and Im getting myself confused.

You confused me there Cheryl - I wondered who Mary Pitts Jennings was :-S

There are 5 names on the record I posted above - 2 of them are for Mary Cordelia Burt as they seemed unsure of the spelling of her neme.

The other two are another couple who were married around the same time and their marriage was recorded on the same page of the Parish Register as 'your couple'.

Parish Registers usually have room to record details of two marriages on the same page so they are given the same page ref and volume number.

Here's (single) Frederick in MT 1910 - no idea why it's all x'ed out, but he must have been there to give details
https://archive.org/stream/13thcensus1910po833unit#page/n383/mode/1up

In 1930, Fred & Bea both say their first marr was when they were 17y younger.

Bea became a US citizen in 1913 with her marr, and entered the US in 1916.
The 1920 enumerator stuffed up, and switched the 2 dates.
He even says the 5y old Ruby immigrated in 1913!!!

Dea

Dea Report 5 Dec 2014 11:07

If 'your' Frederick went to USA before 1901 and stayed therepast 1911 the above, married to Mary, cannot be the same one.

Thanks Dea,

The birth date for Mary Cordelia Burt and the marriage date is what my sister gave me. Forgive me if Im wrong but this does show that Frederick was married before he married Beatrice. Also had a daughter with Mary. Does it also mean that Frederick was married to a Mary Pitts Jennings. Then Mary married Joseph Badcock. Ive never understood why there can be a few names with the same page and volume numbers.

Thankyou all for this information. I would not have been able to get this far with Frederick if it wasnt for everyones help.

I wondered if Frederick was married before because of the big age gap between him and Beatrice. In my old notes that my sister gave me she had him married to a Mary Cordelia Burt. She doesnt remember where she got her name from though. I couldnt seem to find her name pop up any where so have no information on her at all.
