Ok, found Mabel and Thomas on 1911.....name correction submitted

So this Mabel didn't " run off " to be with Benjamin.....

Just had another look, as far as I can see, the only thing (as you said) is to buy Wilfred's birth cert to find mothers name....

Not been able find Thomas George Osbourne and Mabel Earl on 1911census.

I did think maybe Wilfred was Thomas's child who was brought up by Benjamin but no, he was born in Wolverhampton.....

Also come back to Mabel's dob being 1872, as given by her on 1911 census, would she be that far out in knowing the correct year, she is obviously reasonably educated....big difference 1872 and 1880

she was christened in stalbridge dorset on 5/9/1880 her parents were john clark and ellen her father was born there also then on following census they lived in surry. the page for the other Ben is missing on the orginal census.
if they were not free to marry why? Ihaven't found any other marriages for either and as I said can not find Mabel on 1891 census any idea's

Census states Mabel was born Dorchester Dorset in 1872....where did you get Surrey from please...

The original image is signed by Mabel herself so as Rootgatherer said earlier, maybe they were not free to marry until 1917!!!

thats ok easely done think the 1917 was right but wilfred was born 1906 but car'nt find another marriage for ben or mabel will have to get wilf's b/c to see if she was his mother she lived in surry but carn't see her on 1901 census when ben was in hampshire

have benjamin on 1901 census but can not find mabel clark on 1901 have her on earlier census with her parents john and ellen living in surry can anyone else find her thanks
