As there are no replies on any of the threads, I will start on here.

How did you get back to Ellen please? Have you looked on Scotlandspeople for her birth registration please? (Remember to select forename variants as she may have been registered as Helen) From memory, 1861 birth registrations give the date and place of the parents marriage.

I am not seeing an obvious census match at the moment. Have you found Ellen on any census records? Do you know when, where and to whom she married?

Actually triplicate, Ann, and I don't think anyone would want to start responding until you delete 2 of them as there's the chance of duplicating responses and not knowing which thread to respond to.

1838 john might have been born in Ireland they had a daughter ellen
