Oh well - If you are putting kids to bed at this time you must be quite a lot younger than me !! - I am on to grandchildren now ;-)

See you later, or, more probably, in the morning coz 'grannie goes to bed quite early nowadays' !! :-D

Ah Dea crossed messages. Yes Alex Must be when he retired .

I was confused with your info as it said trade; shoemaker, so I wasn't sure if that ment before he went in or whilst he was there . .

You have confused me now - who was living with Helen on 1881 ??

Couldn't have been Alexander (before he went in?) as he would have been in his 70's ???

Ah I've found him on 1881 as a Chelsea pensioner living with Helen.

Shoemaker? before he went in?

Ha ha ha ! I do look a bit grumpy! My daughter took that without me knowing.
But I thought it would help to take me seriously !

It is really great tho, I started on this site years ago trying to find my mother. whom I did find, but too late , she'd already died. So I kinda lost interest. But then this year I got more interested again and this line we've been looking at today is a direct line on my maternal side so it's all the mums I 've never known and it sort of helps. :-)
