So Lydia's mother was a Lydia Snow from Norfolk, which I hadn't picked up but a Snow niece b Essex 57 was visiting Priors in 1871 census.

Choccy Report 2 Dec 2010 17:42

My thinking about the Laura G C Rumbelow birth I posted was that Laura was possibly illegitimate and born to mother Rumbelow, who chose to call her daughter Laura Georgina Curle Rumbelow - just a thought - but I can't find Laura Rumbelow on any census, or Laura 'anybody' !! I also haven't found a death or marriage for Laura Rumbelow.

I did wonder about this -

Mary,I think you may have been on to something in that post where you pointed out William and Jane Elmer and daughters.
Births Sep 1879
Curl Amy Jane E W. Ham 4a 75
is this the Amy Elmer on the 1881-with the E standing for Elmer??
I certainly don't see a likely marriage for William and Jane.
Long time between children,too...

I think I'll go do some Christmas cards-that's much less taxing on the brain.

Mary Report 2 Dec 2010 16:21

Apparently Laura claimed Lydia was a cousin.(according to her grandson, ) I think they may have become friends in London & then she married Walter who may have been a relation to Laura. That puts Laura in london before 1886 where she met Thomas Williams.. Doesn't really help.....?Mary
