Libraries often keep back copies of local newspapers on microfilm.

Here are the contact details for Maryhill Library:-

Maryhill Library and Learning Centre
1508 Maryhill Road
Glasgow
G20 9AD

Phone 0141 276 0715
email: [email protected]

They may be willing to look up the details for you (but some libraries charge for this service).

Trying to find the death of Robert Reid, place of death was Western Infirmary Glasgow, after an accident at work,he had been holding up a number of steel plates so a colleague could get into a draw, these steel plates toppled crushing his chest.he lived Kelvinside Avenue Maryhill Glasgow.Birth was 1829 Paisley Renfrewshire. My mum and i now all of this from relatives but we cannot find his death on Scotlands people. We have spent loads looking but to no avail, we also think it was in the local paper and wondered if anyone would know of any that are online as we live in the midlands, and cant just nip to the records office, thanks for reading and hopefully helping.Regards Donna
