FYI From - http://www.nationalarchives.ie/contactus/churchrecords_2.html

The remaining Church of Ireland parish records for Dublin City, county Kerry and county Carlow have now been added to the Irish Genealogy website, together with a subset of the records of parishes in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cork and Ross.

Work has commenced to complete the computerisation of other Roman Catholic records for Dublin City and the Diocese of Cork and Ross (the latter diocese includes Cork City and all of the parishes in West Cork). It is intended to have elements of this project completed and available online by the end of 2010.

The Irish Genealogy website is now hosted by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sport. The address of the website is: www.irishgenealogy.ie.

What do you mean re Rebeccas age, do you mean cos she is older than Her husband...........her age is the same on the 1841.

To find out if that is "YOUR" Isaacs death you will have to purchase the cert this is the quickest and easiest way............I know what you mean about expensive............I have been doing this for nearly 30 years........in the days before computers. Travelled the length of the UK in my quests! I dread to think how much I have spent!

nite nite

So its Johns mum and step-father them being step children NOT in-laws!

So now can see the surname may not have been plucked out of thin air for the family to use..........IF THEY DID??

If it was me, I would have to eliminate that death, facts being:

Age fits, and 1879 would fit in the timescale you say that everything changed eg names and location of the family. The only bug bear was the registration district of Chelsea...........then again there was a large Hospital in Chelsea...........it is only a maybe but needs checking!
