I did ask if you were sure about your grandfather being Stanley Skinner Lusty. Do you have your mother's birth certificate? Or her marriage certificate? Both of which would show her father's name. Her birth certificate would also confirm her mother's maiden name.

Unless you have that information we might all be barking up the wrong tree.

yep thats my grandfather thay had nine chirdern my mother is ellen may lusty born 1923 on the records i found on free bmd all the records show johnson as mothes maiden name which is rose johnson

If this is your Stanley's death (I assume you are certain of this), then his middle name was Skinner so the only way forward is to buy that birth certificate for Stanley Skinner Lusty. When you do that come back to this thread (do not delete it please) and give us ALL the deatils from the birth certificate and we may be able to locate some of the family on the census records as we will then have his father's occupation.

We all know Stanley and Daisy should be on the 1891 and 1901 census but sometimes people just can't be found.

I'll say again, the only way to get any further is to get Stanley's birth cert.

Your grandfather is Stanley Lusty. Do you know he was Stanley Skinner Lusty? And if so, how do you know this? From your parents marriage cert or from a birth cert? And how do you know he married Rose Johnson. Cos I can't find a marriage of Stanley Lusty to Rose Johnson.

And you said they married in 1917, during the war.

Its not a difficult one, the answer is on that cert.
You need to know, for certain, the parents names.

People often get mistranscribed on cenus - which means ther name gets spelled differently/wrongly etc.

All we have to really search on is Daisy with a surname something like Lusty. If we could look for daisy, with father X & mother Y we'd no doubt find them.

but there seems no census records of them as a family george lusty must be right as the father i dont get the skinner middle name i know his mother died young he had a sister daisy my mother told me this and his father remarried its a diffcult one i know

What I am trying to say is that the marriage to Emma Williams doesn't seem to be the correct marriage.

You haven't hit a brick wall as getting the birth cert will give you Stanley's mother's maiden name.
