Gary, The 1911 census is free to search so you can search that yourself. That way you will see that there are no entries in Greater London for Rose May Johnson born 1900 +/- 1 year.

If you search births on Freebmd from March 1900 until March 1901(that way you will include births in late december 1900) then you will see that there are no births registered for Rose May Johnson - so she is unlikely to appear on the 1901 census.

So, have you bought the birth certificate yet for Stanley? If you are confirming that his mother was Emma Williams what was his father's name and occupation on the birth certificate please?

Gary

Gary Report 17 Jan 2010 16:02

Gary,

There isn't much point nudging the thread up again without any further information from you.

You have been advised by numerous people that you need to buy the birth certificate for Stanley Skinner Lusty to find out his mother's maiden name.

There is no death showing either for Rose Lusty in 1973 or anywhere near that date in Portsmouth.

In order to continue we need some facts.

concrete facts, not hearsay.

Stans birth cert beng the obvious start.

I cant find....
Lusty /johnson marriage
Rose Johnson birth where/when you say

records do go missing on the way to the GRO- but not two for the same person

If they were Portsmouth people, why do you think they then married in London?

we need clarification as to why you think she was born Woolwich. Mayb e she wasn't born Johnson ( illig perhaps) and parents married after.

Gary, have you contacted the cemeteries in Portsmouth to determine whether Stanley and Rose have a grave? Even if they were cremated, the local crematorium will have a record.

Gary, I am really struggling here. I hope you realise that this is because we don't have the same information as you have.

You have now told us that Rose is called Rose May, so that is new, but hasn't helped me find anything. How do you know she was only 17 when she married Stanley? You don't have Stanley and Rose's marriage certificate do you? So how do you know she was 17 on marriage?

Still no marriage.

And still no sign, Gary, that you intend sending for the birth of Stanley Skinner Lusty, despite telling us that you are certain that he is your grandfather. So why not send for it? You can't do this hobby without spending money. Ask for the cost as a Christmas present from someone in your family.

hi minnie yes thay do he wos 89 when he died she wos 73 he died 1971 and rose died 1973 both in portsmouth area

Penny

Penny Report 17 Dec 2009 22:05

If Stanley was born in 1882, and Rose in 1900, he was a lot older than her when they married.

Do their death registrations bear this fact out?

Gary

Gary Report 17 Dec 2009 20:39

rose wos born 1900 in woolwich london died 1973 in portsmouth thay married in london 1917 i have been told by my mother but i cant find a marrage record on free bdm

Penny

Penny Report 17 Dec 2009 20:10

where did they narry Gary- and do you know when? You say Rose johnson was 17... where when did she die?

No still cant see the brick wall you claim to have hit. The info is availible - so its not a brick wall

Gary

Gary Report 17 Dec 2009 18:35

another person match stanleys parents as emma and gearge lusty and there is a sister daisy lydia lusty i know stanley had a sister but not sure of the wifes maaned name which think wos williams but she wos born in cork ireland but again am not sure

Gary

Gary Report 17 Dec 2009 18:26

no someone else thought that but rose may johnson my gran wos 17 when thay married so she wos too young to have been married before but u can see why i have hit a brick wall no census records etc i mean stanley should be on 1891 1901 and 1911

Madmeg

Madmeg Report 17 Dec 2009 18:10

The only thought I had was that Rose Wolfe was previously married, and her maiden name was Johnson. However, there are three Lusty children born in Dartford, mmn Wolfe, so that seems unlikely.

Gary

Gary Report 17 Dec 2009 17:59

yes that married is different but thats the nine kids six died 3 are still alive but u can see johnson is his wife
