Hi Derek,

Thanks for your email the other day. At the moment I am trying to establish the date of death for Amelia or Amy Marsh (b1771) Bolsover Derbyshire.
She married William Marsh and lived in Scarcliffe, where her children were born and raised they seemed to stay in that Derbyshire / North Notts area.
Many people have put her death as 1863, but the only Ameiia Marsh dying seems to be Wells in Somerset and I can't see any connection to Somerset.
Do you have any records?
Cheers Mark

Hi Dereck,

Your thread has just been pointed out to me after my own request with help for some events at Clowne, Debyshire.

I'm looking for the baptism of Fanny Froggatt who was born in 1875.

The marriage of Caroline Froggatt to John Breeze in 1885.

The Baptism of Martha Jane Breeze in 1886 and her sister Mary Elizabeth Breeze in 1888.

I believe that Mary Elizabeth Breeze may have died in the Dec Q of 1912, aged only 23, but I appreciate that may be outside your available source of information.

All of the above events are likely to have been centred around the Church of St John the Baptist, Clowne.

I am also interested in a marriage at St Mary, Bolsolver
between Alfred Froggatt and Annie Mayfield which took place in 1896.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards Maurce

Hi again Derek,

After your recent success on my behalf I wonder if I can push my luck to see if you have anything on the following Derbyshire events:-

The marriage of John Fearn to Ellen Dawes in the Sep Q of 1840 in the Belper District, possibly in Alfreton or Birchwood.

The burial of John Fearn in the Sep Q of 1861 and his wife Lydia in the Dec Q of 1865, both believed to have been buried in Alfreton.

The burial of Richard Parson in the Jun Q of 1898 and his wife Millicent in the Sep Q of 1898 in Pinxton, Derbyshire.

The Burial of Ann Kirkland in the Mar Q of 1849 in Alfreton.

And finally the burial of Catherine Hodgson who died 8 Jun 1847 and known to be buried in Alfreton.

Many thanks, Maurice

Hi LA.....I don't have the Derby Marriage records for 1881...but I have found the BMD entry for OND 1881...........would need to go to matlock and look at the marriage, in order to find the parents involved....the only other way to find her parents would be by purchasing the Mariage Certificate.

The last Census entry I can find for Elizabeth 1883 is that of 1861..which would suggest that by 1871 she had married....?????.and by 1881 she would have been 48...a bit long in the tooth for a first marriage????..and for later childbearing??

Thanks Derek this one is determined to remain hidden I think. I have scoured all records available to me with no luck. Another marriage I can't find is Henry Atherley (her brother) born 1822 married to Sarah ? by 1851 with 2 year old son any ideas ?

Derek how did you find her I cant believe it !!! I have paperwork which gives her second name as Ellen. And yes you have her death correct.
I could not find any Clarissa Eleen Faulkner in any of the census before 1901,
she also used the second name of Elizabeth on one of the childrens birth cert.
Sorry this message is so jumbled I am so exited, she was so special to me.
Can I ask if you have the ref no for her birth cert so I can send for it.
Do you live in Derby ? my husband and I would like to make the trip to take you to lunch if you dont mind.
Again Many Many Thanks.

Kind Regards
Janet

Hello Mark.......well she didn't die at Scarcliffe..but her daughter Amelia did.
I have all the children of William and Amelia..but no death

By and large I'm rubbish on Burials when I don't have the Parish records..Births and Marriages i can usually find elsewhere..but deaths I'll have to go back to Matlock for.

I'm still collating your other stuff..but sadly no sign of your Jonathan!
