Tracey - I think it is back to the comments on the other thread about the 1916 marriage to Annie A Cox! I think Colin needs to buy both those marriage certificates for Walter Levi Walden.

To add to my last thread, Sarah died in Aus.

Sarah Wilson.
Birth 8 oct 1884 in hammersmith london eng
Death 7 may 1949 in maylands w.a. aus

No other data on Walter Levi Walden, did he leave her behind and come home alone?

Colin

Have you got a tree on Ancestry with these people on? This data is on someone's tree, maybe indicating they never returned?

Charles William Walden
Birth 18 oct 1911 in north fremantle
Death 30 nov 1946 in perth w.a. aus

Parents, Walter Levi Walden & Sarah Wilson....

This would suggest they never came home?

Sorry Colin - I know that it is moving away a bit from your original query but I am just trying to get the family clear in my head.

It looks like George the builder is a son of George the Basketmaker and therefore a brother of Walter (Senior) and Uncle to Walter that went to Australia - I think! (She Chuckles!)

I think you are up against a Scottish problem here in that all brothers name sons for their fathers and daughters for their mothers!! And the fact that your family pretty well stayed in the same are when they married..........

EDIT

There are 4 pages of Waldens in Fulham on the 1911 census!

OOoooh nice find!

I'll see if i can find any baptisms to go with the list lol

EDIT: Nope just those 2....

Hi Colin

Do you have a copy of Walter & Sarah's marriage cert?

Tracey x

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 22 Nov 2009 13:47

Walter Levi the elder's father was George P Walden and mother was EDITH.

Sister was Georgina....

As far as i'm aware George P & Edith only had Walter and Georgina.

So i think the top census is correct....

Colin hasn't indicated they had more children than that?

Tracey I feel great you have given me 3 addresses I didn't have The other information you gave is accurate. The witness George is his uncle and Louisa is his aunt.
I have only been able to find a boarding list with Sarah and a male infant, her son who did not survive the trip. There was no reference to a husband or walter l walden by name. It might be an oversight or he may have trvelled at a different.time. Thats the information I am trying to find.
Thanks again for your great efforts..............colin

Sorry Tracey - I was looking at the baptism that you posted - the one that was the father and aunt of the Walter being looked for.

I have caught up now - I think! The Walter in the 1881 census with father George (the Basketmaker) had a son George P. in 1886 who was the brother of the Walter that went off to Australia. Is this correct please?

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 22 Nov 2009 13:13

Hi Root

??, George P Walden was born Oct 1885 and the brother of Walter, their father was also a Walter....
