I am still trying to find the "report abuse" button that always seems to be there but I have never needed. That message could have been sent to a timid person. I know of a number of elderly people on here who would have been terrified.

I have passed that text on to the site management in an email to the "Genes Support Team" in reply to the last one I received, Christine. Along with my disbelief at their mishandling of this situation.

This time she is asking me what she can help me with,I mean realy when is Genes going to stop her.

"May I assure you that we have taken appropriate action regarding this member and we are monitoring the messageboards. The quickest way of reporting problems on the messageboards is by using the Request Review link against the posting. This is logged immediately and the offending post is removed if deemed unsuitable and the member either warned or in some cases given a ban."


It may be the quickest way, but it is obviously totally ineffective.

The "appropriate action" may have been a suspension. Her account does appear to be still active.

Very few people in the world actually have a clue how to deal with people with mental illnesses like these.

Trying to humour them or help them sort things out is wasted effort and can be risky. I do not want to be cruel, but this is a simple fact. These problems are not for amateurs to deal with. Close friends and family can try to get the person the help they need. Strangers really can't do anything, and do not help the person in any way by pretending the problem is not what it is.

I get the feeling GR are deleting her threads as and when we report them, but as for actually contacting her and warning her???

Hi Everyone She was on again this morning Oz time ,I reported her to genes again and I had a reply saying thankyou for bringing it to there attention and they deleted her thread .
I did say that she was disrupting the boards and it is about time that they did something about it as it has been going on far to long .
I have not seen her all day but that means nothing,fingers crossed,I don't want anymore Pms from her ,she is freeky.Sue

well I've just had a dig around and I canlt find any of those daft threads she initiated - maybe they have been deleted by GR

found some of her postings and clicked on her name - still appears to be an active account

i spent the best part of last night reporting ALL her daft rambelings to GR plus a lengthy complaint (500 letters minimum allowed) , hopefully along with other complaints, GR have finally done something about it, but i wouldnt hold my breath.....we will just have to see what tonight brings...fingers crossed everyone, cos i have woke up with a mega headache over this!!

don't know about anyone else but I am sick to death of having to tell posters to ignore Tracy - someone hs just been advised to get a birth certificate and in jumps Tracy - "They are not all they're cracked up to be" The vast majority of our members will have no idea she is coming up with utter rubbish and may believe her - she seems to be on every thread I open

My current standard form for requesting review of her posts/threads:

Can one assume that someone at GR has read the threads about this individual that keep getting deleted? Members of this website are DISTRESSED about this. People are getting private messages that make no sense, from someone they do not know, and they are DISTRESSED. People's family history threads are being disrupted by this individual, and they are DISTRESSED. Other members are trying to HELP by advising posters to ignore her. YOU ARE DOING NOTHING. This situation is beyond intolerable.
