Another suggestion is does your Dad remember who she married? This could be a road to go down as this would give her name also.

Alison

Well you've got me stumped. I've tried every which way to find her but nothing is coming up. I've tried under variations of Mawby and everything. On the 1901 census she is 7. So she really should have been 17 and not 15 on the 1911 census. That got me thinking maybe she was a child born out of Wedlock, but they married in 1892!!! Her age range as per census records is 1894 - 1896.

It could be that they never registered her, but I find that hard to believe.

Will carry on looking and hunting regardless and PM you if I find anything.

Hi lesley
sorry she was born in islington, lived in tottenham her parents were John James Mawby born 1869 islington and Emily Matilda Sharpe born 1870. I found them on the 1901 census by searching for Emilys brother William Francis Sharpe born 1893, he lived with them.
Thanks

Chris

I am fairly sure this is their marriage due to Mary having Agnes as her middle name - it seems she named her daughter after her.

Hello Lesley,

Thank you for offering to help everyone. I'm not sure if you can help me or not, but it'd be great if you could. My relative was staying in a hospital at the time and his family at another address. I have the address and surname, I was wondering if you could look up this address on the 1871 Census? The address was shown as following:

28 Hampden Street, Harrow Road
Registration district: Kensington
Registration subdistrict: St Mary Paddington

And the surname is Herbert.

Thanks
Kind Regards
Rachel

Lesley,
an australian friend is looking for annie and clara williams, 1862 and 1867, believed, at least one in Bristol, perhaps one in cardiff.
The 1871 census for Bristol seems the best bet and I wonder if you could kindly do a search on that. Believed their mother was anne

Many thanks Happy days
