adopted half brother born around 1970

hi, im trying to find my adopted half brother.
I don't have any information on him other than he is a male born around 1970 possably from the potters bar or uckfield area, My mother Diane Reid (DOB 15-06-1952) was about 17 when she had him, he was taken stright into care and adopted.
My mother wont talk about it (i don't think she wants to upset my nan who played a huge part in having him adopted), I only found out by mistake a couple of years ago, so if any one knows of anyone adopted around that time who may have the surname reid please get in touch.
