Hi Jen
Can you help me with marriage of Samuel Bowles b1814 Brightling, Sussex and Lois Wood b1818 Battle/Warbleton. I think they married in 1835 at Warbleton, Sussex.
Also not sure if you might have the records for their births.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Mary

Hi Jen

Could you look up the following marriage please.

I have a Richard Grainger born 1777 who married a Sarah Unknown?she was born c1778.They had their 1st child in 1800 called George Grainger.George was born in Funtington,Sussex also.

Richard was born and died in Funtington,Sussex. He died there in 1848.I would presume the marriage was in Funtington also.

Thanks very much.

Hello Jen - I have just realised that I did not reply to thank you for your information provided on 22/08/08. I am very sorry. It's quite unlike me.

The information was very helpful.

At the risk of outstaying my welcome could I please ask you again to look at any marriages of Betteridge, Betheridge, Betridge, Bettridge, Batteridge, Betterridge or Battridge in the whole of Sussex over the same period. I'm sure there will be only a few.

I shall be very grateful.

Hi

would it be possible to look me up a couple of marriages on the Sussex marriages cd please?
I'm after a marriage between John De Pau (De Paw) and Amy sometime in the late 1600's. I know John remarries in Rye to Mary Barham but cannot find his first marriage.
Secondly i'm after the marriage of John Waters who married Elizabeth circa 1760's.

Thankyou

HiJen

Phyllis again went back to original offer and realise that yes you do have birth records, I realise it is a bit much but I now live in Spain so have to rely on records for tracing my family, records only go back as far as 1837 from what I can see, so any help you can give me on tracing William Backhurst of Eastbourne's grandparents etc would be brilliant, he was born 8/1/1840 to William Backhurst and Harriett Boswell, really appreciate the offer.

hi smurf. sorry i always forget to put what abreviations mean...botp - both of this parish. lic - by licence. amazes me too how the names differ.i guess sometimes vicars etc spelt them as they sounded . i like the marriages when it has 2 entrys, some have archdeaconry of lewes ,etc. that usually gives quite a bit of info, sponsers etc and jobs.then the day after it has the marriage date they wed...let me know if you need more...jenny

Hello Jen

Thanks for the kind offer.

This might be a bit of a long shot, but I have James Peters and Alice ?? baptising children from 1743 in the Dorking area of Surrey.
Cant find a marriage for them so wondered if they had married in one of the Sussex parishes bordering Surrey.

Would you be able to search your marriage disc for a marriage?

Many thanks

Jacqui
