looking again..yes..could be Moar..Moore as the H in the mothers maiden name doesnt match the H in the fathers name..so yes..Moar..Moare..Moore

though there is the name Hoar...

ok well maybe I can try looking at the marriage index and see if I can find a marriage between a John Hoar & Mary & see if can figure out name from there.....

why is it the further back you go the harder it gets.....

looks like the boys name David...born 1859 in Kingsclere: Mothers maiden name looks like Hest
John & Mary Hoar ? formerly Hest..or Heit..but Hest looks best bet...

Yes Paul,
I thought that but then when you look at the date when born : fifth of december - the 'th' of fifth and how the 't & h' join together looks very silmilar to the end of Mary's maiden name.

If you see what I mean.....

that's what doubted it for me...
