Was Fanny Violet Lakin in the village in 1907?

Hi All
Have been to Derbyshire records office today, to see who was at the farm for the years 1905-1907, the records are very vague but there was no one called John Lakin in the village for these years. All the farms were just listed as Plaistow, no listings for a Plaistow Green farm. I know John Lakin died in 1910 ref 7b 392 Reg Belper, if i got his death cert that, would give me his address at death ?

I have been trying to find the farm on crich history pages and it is spelt Plaistow i can only get the owner from 1991 so too far back for Jessie's birth thankyou for everyones time on this.

I went through 22 pages of Crich on the 1901 census, looking for Plastow Farm. No luck. Not sure what to suggest.

The family you have found were living on the common in crich. This man John Lakin is who my uncle thinks is Jessie's dad. Is there anywhere i can look by address to see who was living at the Farm in 1907 please.

There's a Lakin family in Crich in 1901. No address given, They're John 44? and wife Mary Ann 42. He was born Shepshed, Leicestershire and she in Crich.

In 1891 they're 64 and 62, gotta go back to 1901. OK, they were 74 and 72 in 1901.

Just a thought don't no if it will be any help but on Jessie's birth cert the mothers address is given as Plastow Farm Crich, which is in Derbyshire i cannot find any Lakin family there on 1881 census but you may be able to find a Lakin family there on the 1901 census, by the way different spellings of Lakin, Lakins, Laykin.

My uncle has the birth cert there is no father and it does say Fanny Voilet Lakin.

Just a thought, Rose. On Jessie's birth certificate, is the writing very bad? Could the mother's name possibly be Frances Amelia Eaton instead of Frances Violet Lakins? I'm really clutching at straws here!

It is confusing, isn't it? I don't understand, if Frances married Job Nightingale Hopkinson in 1906 and Jessie was born in 1907, her father would automativally be registered as Job, wouldn't he?

No father on birth cert for Jessie but on marriage cert it gives the father as John Lakin. Jessie married in 1928. My uncle believed this Fanny person was Frances having Jessie out of wedlock in an alias but i've proved that not to be so today as Frances married Job Nightingale Hopkinson in 1906 and Jessie was'nt born until 1907 But surely you would have to have some id when registering a child ?. The lady my grandma called mother was Frances Eaton who married a job nightingale Hopkinson in 1906. All grandma's children called Frances grandma but Job was always known as uncle. I wonder if my grandmother was an orphan and the family took her in, or possibly a relies child. My uncle thinks her father the John Lakin who is mentioned on her marriage cert was a said John born in 1827 he must have been good at producing as he would have been 80 when Jessie was born. Hope you can follow this Margaret just all a bit confusing for me. any ideas what do you think ?
