If you search for Juliann McPhail, 1799 birth, and then click on the batch number at the bottom of the screen, and put the parents in again in the search fields, you will get the other possible siblings...

If by some chance you have any credits left would you look for the baptism of William Geddes born c1834 Aberdeenshire. I have him aged 7 on 1841 census in Lonmay, Aberdeenshire with his brother James c 1830 but no sign of any parents.

I guess you will have run out of credits but if you have any to spare could you please find out who the parents were of James Mckay b 1850 New Galloway Kirkcudbrightshire. On the 1851 census he was living with his grandparents The Clanachans in the Kells area and was 1 month old.

The following is data that was given to me about his son who emigrated to Canada in 1815 from Knoydart to Lochiel Glengarry Ontario. The line of his ancestors is given.

Searching for John MacDonald/McDonald Born around 1755

MacDonald, Angus 25 Apr 1840 Lochiel “mac Jen bhain au torrachroin” (son of Fair John)
Lochiel is the son of John Ban (of Toirachrain) MacDonald his line would be Angus of John Ban of John of John of Duncan Ban of Duncan of John Mor of Roari(Roderick) of Ian Raurdh(Red John) of Neil of Anghas Buidhe(Blonde Angus) of Eoghan (Ewan) of Charles of Hector Og(Young Hector) of Hector Ard(High Hector) of Alistair Mor McDonald, Laird of Loup(e).

The MacDonald's of Loup came from Knoydart Scotland to Canada probably starting with John Roy in 1786. The word Torrachoin would be gaelic I assume for a place or town where your relative came from. As there are no longer any towns or even people in Knoydart or surrounding areas nothing shows on current maps. I have a map from 1875 and south of Knoydart in North Morar which is just across Loch Nevis there is a place or town called Torr A Chonnaidh which is very close and could be the same.

It is for a marriage of William Whitehead to a Matilda Plant first child born in 1858. so I would think the marriage may have been 1856/57 in Falkirk Stirlingshire.

Hi Diane, if the offer is still going please could you look up a possible marriage for Alexander Leslie and Isabel/Isabella Adam c1790,...... maybe earlier or later... they had a son William born c 1797, don`t know of any other siblings..I`m sorry but I have no idea of the area, just know it would be Scotland, don`t know if the search facility on Scotlandspeople allows "blanket searches", but anthing you may find would be great.
