We are trying to trace Jimmy (Jim, James) Reid who used to live at Andrews Avenue, Flixton, Manchester, in the 1950s. We do not remember his parents names and think that he was adoped. Anu help you can give us would be much appreciated.

Rosie, I would start by checking other people's trees on the off-chance there is a match - use "search trees" above. It would help if you have a rough year of birth. Did he live with his parents at this address? If so it might be worth checking the electoral register to see who else was there (over 21's obviously!). This has to be done in person or by the staff where the registers are kept - a fee may be charged.
